Thanks for clarifying that Sig. I wasn’t sure if the trespassing raccoon hunters were in your bed sleeping, their dogs, or the racoons themselves were in your bed. Either way I had an image of a violent but funny encounter.
You should have seen the encounter with my neighbor when one of his boys decided with some other friends to ride their ATV's on my property (funny enough, they took one 8' section of barbed wire that was "cut" to access the property).

Neighbor wasn't too happy that I was having a shooting session with a a range out back from back of the house, but my wife just got out of major surgery and was upset by the noise the ATV'ers were making easily understanding that they were in our back yard.

End of the day although the neighbor was upset I was shooting when his son and some friends were riding ATV's on my property. After time he understood and we are still good friends. Ironically enough after I re fenced that 8' barbed wire section a couple of days after I was having a shooting session, not once since that time has any ATV's been riding on my property.

Just so happens the coon hunters caught me in a spur of the moment shoot session at night as well (when I hear shooting at night or people on my property, for some reason just want to use my range).

That said, another neighbor asked me about the shooting the day after, and I explained to him that if no one tells me when they want to be on my property, I'll have a shooting session. Ironically after that no more coon hunters on my property.

Go figure...

Simple rule, respect other peoples property, be it land or material things.

I'm blessed in the fact that my wife is smarter and a better person than myself.

You just gave away all your clout.
Advice to others: NEVER admit this to your wife. lol

Best policy IMO to be honest to the one you expect to be married to for the rest of your life with.

Keep in mind, I not only fell in love with her because of her body (along with mind), but the fact that she could drive my 5 speed Toyota without hesitation and her dad tried to convince her to take one of his guns when she moved to NC by herself ;)

Dad spent a career in the military and always told me to marry someone better than yourself (and I could see that for numerous reasons in my own family).

It was a done deal when I took her out to Utah on a trip with my dad and me when she was my girlfriend at the time. Girlfriend went into the gas station for something, dad was in back seat, I was driving, and he told me I'd better marry her because he liked her better than me:ROFLMAO: Although my mom died before my future wife and I met, I consider my mother in law no different than my own mom. Same for her dad who passed in 2021. Dad always told me when you marry a girl, you marry her family. I'm truly blessed(y)

Now, in my defense, I've told my wife many times I lucked out with her and her parents. I would have been screwed if I married her sister or if one of her aunts became my MIL...

I'm blessed in the fact that my wife is smarter and a better person than myself. Before I take a firearm outside to dispose of a critter, generally we talk about the situation first (although my wife and I are very different people, we have the same core values).

If you told you wife feeding cats on the back porch draws unwanted critters but she didn't head your advice, and then draws unwanted critters she doesn't like that you warned her about, well, if it were my wife, I'd tell her to shoot the critters herself.

Doesn't sound like your wife has much common sense.
She did stop feeding and I didn't shoot the racoon. We talked!
She is a city girl that had 2 kids by 20 and collected monthly checks. She is no dummy but no one in her world had morals or common sense including parents, you know the crowd.
COMMON SENCE is partially taught and partially in your nature. Think first!
Reminds me, we were arguing once, she said: Sometimes you're to commonsensical. I laughed and made it worst. Stop arguing with common sense dammit

She moved here and there. Her and her two kids equaled three kids. What did I do!
She has learned a lot in 40 years but still a city girl.
I bought 5 acres, and we moved here 39 years ago and never moved again.
She always wanted to live in the country and
she has been good to me.
Life hasn't always been smooth sailing. One corrupt stepson tested us.

She has never once told me that I couldn't do or buy anything.
I know she wouldn't have allowed another woman. :ROFLMAO:
One woman and tractors on the side are all I need!

I bought a rental property about ten years ago and got a rude awakening about a real sickness in our society. I sold the rental

I know one person that no longer lives under that rock.
I'm rambling a mile off topic

I thought that racoon was long gone weeks ago.
Your thread went so tar OT I lost track. Sorry

I'm happy for the lucky racoon. He's running wild. ;)

Someone I worked with hated cats. I always remember he had a cartoon that said “free, lake kittens” in the caption and it was a burlap bag with lumps in it sitting in a puddle of water. I might have made that a “lake raccoon “.
