I posted a few times on moving rocks and got a lot a requests for more info. Today I had to move another large stone without damaging the lawn. So here's the whole story:
The stone measured 4' x 3' x 2.5'. It was set in a small depression and needed to be moved about 100' to the front of the house over the lawn.
I don't have an FEL or BH, just chains, and a trailer mover. I used a piece of plywood as a sled so it could be dragged over the lawn without tearing it up.
Pic 1: Rolling it onto the sled.
