Our little weekend cabin is sitting by the front gate. It was moved 1/2 mile today down our hill and through our mesquite patch. Tomorrow it will be moved another 19 miles to it's new owner's place and another TBN member Mike. Mike missed the loading so I took some pictures for him to look at when he gets his satellite dish.

The first picture, in keeping with the theme of this web site, is me getting the moving truck unstuck on the sandy hill with my Kubota.

The second picture is the removal of the front and rear porches.

Very cool and nice looking place you got there.

Did you do anything to the cabin to "reinforce" it or was that not necessary?

What's the next step, Don? Are you setting up permanant homestead? Also, is that a breezway down the middle and is it about 20 x 30? I like the looks of that cabin.

That's pretty darn cool, Don. Do you suppose when you go to visit Mike and Bernice in the future they'll say, "Just make yourse'f at home?";)

Good Afternoon Don,
That was a very interesting set of photos, thanks !

Building another place in the same location ? Just curious ! ;)

BTW, any news on the VFD point system that I sent you awhile back ?

MarkV, yes we decided after 3 years of living in the cabin that their was not a better place we want to retire. We will build where the cabin was and finally get central air and heat!

Jim, I hope so.

Jayste, the cabin's foot print with porches was 30'X40', two 16'X16' rooms with an eight foot wide breezeway and 7' porches on the front and rear. The next step is to build our retirement house.

JimmyJ, The cabin was not reinforced or tied down. I'll gather up some photos from today......
