Moving to dedicated mowing machine

I have a 2+ acre yard that has numerous obstacles and slopes and steep ditches. I have been using a JD 445 garden tractor to do the mowing for the past 14 years (one large 400' long 25' tall ditch I pay to have mowed because it's just too steep and sharp at bottom ... they use a standup ride on and they fight to stay on the slope to get it done ... fast but dangerous) I'd love to find something that could mow quicker, be easy to control, and easy to change/sharpen blades. Of course the cut would have great or not worth the change. Do you have any suggestions as to what ZTR machines would work for me? Everyone I have posed this question to so far has said Ventrac or Steiner but my 6'4" tall 375lbs doesn't fit on them and many ZTR's require me to have a much smaller girth to operate them they way they were designed.

You might check out Grasshopper with a front mount deck. They have an option to get a wider seat.

Last season I got a Toro 54" zero turn. All my rough areas are cut with a bush hog on my L4400. The zero turn is so strong I am rethinking the division of what to use where with the options the zero turn give me.

The BX makes a fine mower, it also works well as it was intended. If you can afford to buy many different machines sure you can always get something that will do ONE job better, as always if you pick something that can do everything it usually does nothing as well as a machine that only does one thing.

Then you have the people that will continue to talk down the little machine, these are people too stupid to do research and get the sized machine that they really needed....so it will not do what they need it to do. These same idiots will say it can't do anything well when in fact they are too stupid to do the research and get what they really need. For some reason they feel the need to keep bringing up the same old arguments, when in fact they are just too thick headed to realize they are the idiots that bought wrong.

Only complaint I have about the BX mowing is it is very bumpy on my yard....then again the Ferris I have is pretty bumpy so that tells you just how bad the area that I mow is.

Before I move off to band camp Just do your research before you buy and you will have a machine that will fit your needs. Believe it or not there are a great many times and jobs that don't require a large machine.....my large machine has sat all year....it just destroys the rain soaked ground too much to be of any use....and if you do load it up the front end sinks in to the rims.
