Moving to the Farm

Turkeys are a trip. You will have fun with them. Luckily you have a good grass cover in your pumpkin patch. They shouldn't get sunburned. I'm afraid the new part of my garden is going to look like that soon with all the rain we've been getting. It's seven or eight days straight so far. And you might think of a calf tractor. Something you can push to new grass every few days. PVC pipe works good for a lightweight frame, but of course, PVC pipe is costly too.

I had never thought of a calf tractor. I may look into that. Pretty soon they will be taken to my brother in law's house for a bit to eat his pasture. When they come back they may be in with the sheep.

Our garden has been keeping us busy also, with all the rain by time we get in it the weeds are a mess. Beautiful sunset.

What have you planted?

Tomatoes, green beans, green peppers, lettuce, spinach, cucumbers, cabbage, beets, carrots, onions, garlic, lots of potatoes, and maybe something else I'm forgetting. Everything seems to be doing really well, maybe a little slow because of all the rain and lack of sun. I am worried about the underground plants because of how wet it has been, it would disappointing to dig up a bunch of rotted potatoes.

Some of my onions are rotting from too much rain. We have had at least a passing shower for 9 or 10 days straight. But my 2nd planting of peas, corn, melons and squash are taking off.

Interesting to read about rain... either too much or too little.

I was up in the mountains for a 7 days working on a construction project and the poor yard back home suffered a lot... record heat for the month of June throughout the month of June... you know it's hot when Olympia Washington is 91 and Lake Tahoe is similar!

Too bad those with too much water can't export it to those looking for more.

With mandatory water restrictions... no garden this year... other than the established fruit trees.
