Kubota L2350
Hi - I presently have a Kubota L2350 with bucket loader, bush hog and 72" Woods finish mower.

I have about 60 acres and am feeling way underpowered especially in the bush hog area where the max size I can have is 5' with this tractor and that bogs down considerably in the heavy stuff.

Having read around a bit I'm considering upgrading to either the L31 series or the L46 series.

I'd like to get to the point where I could be mowing at least 8' wide with a bush hog and potentially more with the finish mower as I have about 5 acres of finish grass that I'm keeping mowed.

Any suggestions will be gratefully accepted.

Hi Ken,
I have 40 ac. and a L2250. I too am feeling underpowered. Most of my land is wooded so I do not do much mowing. I am looking to buy a new Kubota M4900 in the next 11 to 12 months. I think this will fit my needs for tractor size, weight pto hp, and 3pt lift capacity.
Bigger is almost always better, unless you have tight spots you need to manuver in or you need to move it by trailer and then you need to think about the size of your towing equipment.
I plan to keep my 2250 for the tight spots etc so hopefully I will have the best of both worlds. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
The M4900 may be a little large for finish mowing but there is another TBN member who uses it for that. And with the right tires and soil conditions you would probably be alright.
All just my opinon. Good Luck
Dave

Thanks for the reply. Since beginning this little research I've decided on either M4800 M4900 or M5700 and am actually leaning toward the 5700 just because it's "over powered" for what I'm trying to do. The Grand L series seems to me to be just not enough tractor.

I'll be adding an 8' bush-hog to it (likely Woods). Any suggestions on loader? My dealer suggests that the Kubota loaders aren't as facile as Woods and as I love my Woods mowers I've not done much research here. For that matter - the loader is mostly a big wheelbarrow for me anyway! <grin>

I'm tickled that you say you'll keep the 2350 - I've been wondering about that. At least I'll keep the little bush-hog for those tighter places. Can you imagine a 5' bush hog being driven by a 50+ hp tractor??? - hmmm, sounds like fun.

Thanks again -
Ken
