Tim, I get on some of the Windows 2000 server boards and post questions about what some on the board would consider newbie questions. On most of those boards, the members post there to show everyone how smart they are, and if you don't display what they perceive as the pre-requisite amount of knowledge you are flamed or ignored. And if you do get answer, sometimes too much knowledge is assumed.

The good thing about this board is there aren't any stupid questions, and there is no pre-requisite of knowledge required, either about tractor, or about this board itself. So if a post sounds condescending to you, its probably just an honest attempt at providing useful information.

I don't care if a poster tells me something I already know. To assume I already know, might cause me to miss some valuable information.

I see you are back to those "rotary" cutters again, I know you really seem to not like the sickle cutter so why don't you just truck me up that little MoCo that you have. I'd take a spare. Remember, your "opinion" is not everyones' opinion. That's what makes America great, we all have our preferences and opinions!!!!!

5030,

Your lawnmower engine block in the hay field reminded of when a few years ago I was baling a small field next to a turnpike,(small square bales). The baler suddenly sheared the flywheel bolt and stopped. I pulled a weathered Remington .22 caliber semi-automatic rifle out of the bale chamber cutting knife. Didn't even want to know what the history was on that gun. By the way, it was fully loaded!!

Dancce:

There is one problem, living in the country, people from the city come out here to dispose of their "discards". From old tires to lawnmower engines, barbcue grills, old propane tanks, sofa's and the never ending flow of abandoned dog and cats. Of course my wife adopts all the dogs and cats. We must have about 40 cats in the barn and 7 dogs. All the dogs are strays and their all PUREBRED. At least the don't abandon their cars out here. They leave them in the city. I guess it's too far to walk. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I was talking to the deere dealer yesterday and he said that the sales were so good on the disc mower conditioners that deere has quit making a sickle mower. He said it wasn't even worth it for deere to keep them in production. They have contracted with Frontier to provide sickle mower conditioners for those that still want them.

5030,

I have had the town folk "discharge" problem myself.
It is a pet peave of mine . Once I found a pile of trash discarded over my fence in a rather remote field I have, and in the trash was a name and address that showed up several times. My first reaction was to gather up the trash, take it to
town and dump it on those people's front yard.
Instead, I reported it to the county sheriff's office---who proceeded to do absolutely nothing----next time I will go with my initial reaction and dump it back in town.
I'll probably get free room and board from the sherrif's dept. for my effort, though!!! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

5030,
Likely these people are renters that dumped their trash on you. If a person owned some real property, they tend to realize they will be responsible for their actions. For this reason I believe the right to vote should be for real property owners ONLY, like it was during the first 100 years of our country.

Hey CCI,

You probably have not noticed it yet,but earlier in this thread and your other one about the hay season,I asked a question that has went unanswered so far by yourself. I'm wondering just how heavy of a 40 hp tractor you need to safely bale these 1200lb bales on flat ground, let alone unlevel terrain?
