mower deck stand

Thanks Junkman.
I may have to get one of them.
It would it solve the problem of changing blades, which I have to do before next summer. (I don't think the blades are supposed to be surrated. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif)
And I would get back some of the floor space my 60" deck takes up during the winter.

I made a set similar to that with a couple pieces 1" (ish) pipe (fits into the deck), some 1/2" (ish) bar (welded to the pipe and inside the pipe as axels for the wheels), and some cheap wheels. I use a couple PTO clips to hold the wheels on and keep everything together.

If the temperature ever goes high enough to let the brass monkeys out, I am working on a design which is considerable more elaborate, but which should be more maneuverable.

You are forgetting your maritime history lesson. It is the cold that allows the brass monkey to loose the cannon balls, not the heat.

I was thinking of the well used Canadian expression

"Cold enough to freeze the ..... off a brass monkey"

Yes, I am very familiar with the expression, however, I was referring to what the saying is in relationship to. The brass monkey is the term for the device that the cannon balls were stacked on when they were on the deck of the ship. When it got cold, the brass monkey would "contract" enough that the balls would then roll off of it, hence the saying "cold enough to freeze the balls of of a brass monkey.".... Now, for those of you that have a different perceived notion of the saying, consider yourselves now educated to the origins of the phrase.... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
