I absolutely love my 60". I haven't had scalping problems in some time...I mow ~1.5" up and any high spots have been taken down over time by the deck. Took care of those the first year.
The nicest thing is that I can "overlap" my runs by a foot or two and still get an acre cut and bagged in ~45 minutes. The results are exceptional...better than the professional cut across the street or the professional cut the HOA pays for along my frontage (which I re-cut each time).
Plus, as others have mentioned, it works VERY well in getting close to obstacles to minimize trimming. In fact, they seem to have engineered the 60" deck so if you turn as sharp as possible and get the front tire within 1/2" of an obstacle, the deck wheel will magically come within 1/2" of the same obstacle as well as the edge of the deck itself...never hits the obstacle. Pretty amazing. And it sticks out a solid foot...great for getting under shrubs and into ditches without dropping a wheel.
