I failed miserably trying to mow wild black berries. They just spread out farther, along the ground. After a few years, they didn't get very tall, just very thick, over a bigger area. You'll love it. My flail munched a large section of wild blackberry bushes this spring. Fast, clean and mulched all at once.
(I use hammers, not knives).
When I got goats, they went after the blackberries!!!! I had areas that I had just given up on ever getting under control. I wasn't really paying attention to that area anymore, and it was one of the biggest shocks of owning goats that I've had, they where all gone, down to the dirt. No sign that they had ever existed. Ten years later, they are still gone!!!! Goats LOVE blackberry bushes.
