You'll love it. My flail munched a large section of wild blackberry bushes this spring. Fast, clean and mulched all at once.

(I use hammers, not knives).

I failed miserably trying to mow wild black berries. They just spread out farther, along the ground. After a few years, they didn't get very tall, just very thick, over a bigger area.

When I got goats, they went after the blackberries!!!! I had areas that I had just given up on ever getting under control. I wasn't really paying attention to that area anymore, and it was one of the biggest shocks of owning goats that I've had, they where all gone, down to the dirt. No sign that they had ever existed. Ten years later, they are still gone!!!! Goats LOVE blackberry bushes.

I'm regards to keeping the bucket low: I took this video before I'd started keeping it a few inches above the ground as another forum user mentioned.

What RPM were you runnning the PTO at when you were mowing?

The normal answer should be 540 pto rpm. That's the common denominator for any/all pto driven equipment. It's marked on all tractor tach gauges.
It's the travel speed that can be adjusted to the job at hand...

What RPM were you runnning the PTO at when you were mowing?

Like Robin responded below your comment, I was running at the 540 rpm PTO speed marked out on the tach. I was planning on slowing down as the brush got thicker, and if you watch the video closely you can see I stop twice very briefly. Those two spots were where I was downshifting from 3-2 and then 2-1 to match speed to engine horsepower available.
