I have a 2005 LT180 Deere rider with the 17hp kawisaki motor. It has been relatively trouble free. Nothing has broke that I haven't been able to fix. I mow the yard 1.5 acres with it and it has about 450 hours in 14 years. I've replaced the drive belt, the gas tank's pickup tube, a couple of bearings, and countless blades.

I use the tractors to bush hog the fields. Which I need to do.

Just started mowing with a 2008 vintage Deere Z245. Updated it with seat support springs from a later version of the Z245 to smooth the ride. Turf tire traction in green grass on slopes is lousy, updating the 18X9.5-8 with Carisle 20X10-8 Lug tire. Looking at some LED headlights, reverse lights and running lights.

PowerTrac PT425 with 60" finish mower. All hydraulic. Takes me less than 30 seconds total to mount or remove the mower and add or take off another attachment. And it's out front where you can see it. Easily goes 3' under trees and bushes, into corners, etc...

Some pictures of the deck on the machine.

And some before and after pictures of my lawn. Taken back in 2002. The pear tree is gone now. Replaced with some peaches this spring.

I'm very satisfied with the cut quality of the machine. Before our kids grew up and flew the nest, I also used it to mow 4 ball diamonds at their Little League park and at our church/school ball diamond.

Hey Moss, just curious, what kind of blade tip speed does that hydro set-up get?

I do not know. I used to have access to a pressure wheel tachometer from my old job that I could have used to determine the pulley speed, but I don't work der no mo!

How would one go about measuring the tip speed without an adjustable strobe light?

This sounds like a fun project.... I'll start another thread on that.

HA, no clue! Keep us posted on that one!

Seems most of the commercial units stay just under the 19K ANSI max. My Yazoo was advertised at 18.5.

Told my little bride it would last us forever. Looks like I may have been right.

Then i have a 20 yo Kingkutter 72" RFM that i now use on the field, used to use it on the lawn.
Have a 30 yo wheelhorse that needs engine work, but rest of it is in great shape.Screenshot_2019-06-08-09-13-16.jpeg
