UPDATE/ I finally got around to installing my 18k Mr Cool DIY mini split in my hunting camp and so far I am very impressed with it, it has no problem cooling the 800 square feet camp and is unbelievably quiet indoor and outdoor unit, the best part was not having to hire an A/C contractor, I was able to do it all myself, I would recommend this unit for cooling to anyone, I will have to wait till winter to give an update on the heat pump portion of it for heat. Charlie.

I ended up putting one in, last fall. To cover the external lines, i used plywood and painted to match, can hardly tell it's there. Used it for heat, all winter long. Power savings was substantial, even in this temperate climate. Now i have AC for the summer!

I used a lineset cover that I bought off of Amazon and I just routed all the extra lineset under the floor joists and strapped it to keep it from going anywhere, I tried to make it as neat as I could.

Did the mounting bracket come with it?

No sir, I ordered it off of Amazon as well, but I ordered the mini-split from Costco as it was several hundred dollars cheaper than anywhere else, seems like that wall mount bracket was less than $50.00.

Mini-splits may change the industry. Earlier posts brought up the problem of unit being overkill for small bedrooms. "Jump vents" between adjoining rooms is one solution. Finding a quite fan can be the toughest part of venting between rooms. Effeciency can be increased by using stud cavity with cutout near floor in room with unit and near ceiling in adjoining room. Caulk as many drywall joints as you can reach through cutouts, paying special attention to the one at top plate. Needless to say, there need's to be a gap between floor and door in both rooms or doors left open for returning air. IMO,filteration is insufficient in most units. Try and stay on top of filtering because coil cleaning is a bear on MSs. Meaningful air cleaning can be accomplished by incorporating a filter with jump vent. Use pleated paper or spun polyester filters, don't kill your equipment with fiberglass filters.
