hello again fellas.i appreciate your help so far on my newbie questions with this fuel containment business.i have just recently heard about a mr. funnel that seems to filter any water or contaminates that find their way into your diesel fuel
storage tank.what is your opinion on this mr. funnel vs an inline fuel filter, like a goldenrod product, setup.also, could someone please pm or email me with a closeup picture of a inline, from the storage tank to the nozzle, setup that you use?
thanks,

I use neither on my barrel of OR diesel. I noticed a fuel filter on the tractor. Haven't seen water or sediment in the clear bowl yet, just clean red diesel.

Mr. Funnel is a great product for this use. Mr. Funnel is also great in conjunction with inline filters. Visit www.mrfunnel.com for more information on our products.
Thank you,
Mr. Funnel

I agree 100%. That gizmo is a pure GIMMICK..and nothing more. How many fuel filters in a system do people need to get over paranoyia??

Between the filter on the pump at the fuel depot..the filter on my own tank...the LARGE funnel I fill with that has a broze scrren to keep things like birds eggs and bald eagles from falling in...and the fuel filter ON the tractor..I mean GEEZE!!!

I was suspicious myself at first, but I bought one from the local ag supply store anyway. Figured the screen would at least keep out the "bird eggs" if nothing else.

However, when I got it home & tested it, I was amazed that it really does work. Fill that rascal to the top with water and it won't let a drop through! But diesel flows right out like it should. It's also trapped a lot of fine "trash" in the fuel that I couldn't see in the container.

Overall, I'm pretty impressed with the Mr. Funnel design.

GIMMICK???? I took my fuel barrel to town and filled it with off road diesel, I promptly had to change the fuel filter on the tractor four times, I got a water filter for the pump on the fuel barrel and it clogged with water so I ordered the Mr Funnel and transferred the fuel to another tank running it through the Mr Funnel, haven't changed a fuel filter since, I'll keep using my GIMMICK, it's a lot cheaper than a easier than changing a lot of fuel filters.

It's a function of the quality of the diesel fuel in an area. The fuel in your area is great. Good for you. Other people are not so fortunate and they need something like Mr Funnel.

Plus, it's not a 'gimmick'. It does what it claims.

Just wait until you get some fuel from your local supplier that is laced with water. It happens. Your opinion will change very quickly.

For your information, just about every underground and most above ground bulk fuel storage tanks contain anywhere from 2" to 6" of water in the bottom. This gets stirred up everytime a new load of fuel is dumped into the storage tank. The fuel you buy could very well be contaminated. Mr Funnel does a way, way better job of filtering out the water than any filter on your tractor. A Mr Funnel is a good way to protect your investment.

Oh, and how do I know, you ask. Well for over 2 years I owned my own service station and had underground tanks. I KNOW how much water is in the tanks.
