mr. funnel vs inline fuel filter??????

So when is Mr Funnel going to come out with an inline version? If it works so much better than the standard filter, it would be a nice device to have on there.

It's a function of the quality of the diesel fuel in an area. The fuel in your area is great. Good for you. Other people are not so fortunate and they need something like Mr Funnel.

Plus, it's not a 'gimmick'. It does what it claims.

Never said it didnt do what it CLAIMED.. But just how many various / different filters does one need?? People state they got their fuel and it was "full of water"?? And they CONTINUED to buy again and again from the same place?? Ahhh..."That aint too smart".?

People pay good money for a good product? Now who calls diesel ful with a lot of water in it a GOOD PRODUCT?? I sure wouldnt. Some drops me a lod of fuel oil and its full of water...then SOMEONE ( and it aint gonna be ME) is gonna be back there pumping my tank out and putting in new...fresh..fuel oil!!

Additional filters that are used PRIOR to the fuel in the tank being pumped to the injectors...is nothing more than one more "band-aid". As one poster stated..if its that great..lets see an INLINE MODEL!!! Any water in my tractor fuel is going to be coming from condesaion from INSIDE my FUEL TANK!...and I really dont trust that little paper element on my Kubota to filter out any water I might develop.

Im all for the "idea"...but not for the APPLICATION! Make one that I can install "inline"...before or after my paper element "fuel filter"..and I'll belly up to the bar as fast as anyone. If I didnt believe in a "water/fuel seperator filter"..I wouldnt bother to change the filter on my motorhome!!

"the LARGE funnel I fill with that has a broze scrren to keep things like birds eggs and bald eagles from falling in..."

Bah, I got a laugh from that one.

If my tractor fuel filter wasn't working flawlessly for the last 250 hours then I could see the point. Maybe my fuel source is very good. As was stated every time new fuel is added to the inground tank everything gets stirred up, well, I caught the guy filling the inground tank at my depot and quietly asked him how often he fills the off road tank and he told me no less than once per day. year round. Very high turnover and constantly stirred up and flushed out.

On my old bulldozer I had a fuel filter with the draincock that I would dump a few ounces out of each time I ran the machine. I don't know why the tractor's filter doesn't have that but I sure would like it.

On that Mr. Funnel, after you use it doesn't dirt and dust stick to the residual diesel? My fuel jugs have caps to keep the dirt out and introducing a dirty funnel seems to be a source of contamination. Does mr. funnel come with caps? I am growing tired of slight spillage on my tractor hood so a funnel might be coming.

I was looking for a funnel because on all of my diesel cans the plastic spout is missing or broke. I did a search for diesel funnels when saw the Mr. Funnel website and decided this was a way to solve my wories about dirty fuel from my cans/service station and get a large funnel to stop the spills on the hood. I just ordered it so I hope it's worth the $24.

Oh, and how do I know, you ask. Well for over 2 years I owned my own service station and had underground tanks. I KNOW how much water is in the tanks.

I worked 15 years in the evenings in a filling station...my job was to count the $$...read the pumps..and stick the tanks for the balance sheet at closing. I fully know what the colored putty on the bottom of "the stick" indicates!

GIMMICK???? I took my fuel barrel to town and filled it with off road diesel, I promptly had to change the fuel filter on the tractor four times, I got a water filter for the pump on the fuel barrel and it clogged with water so I ordered the Mr Funnel and transferred the fuel to another tank running it through the Mr Funnel, haven't changed a fuel filter since, I'll keep using my GIMMICK, it's a lot cheaper than a easier than changing a lot of fuel filters.

If I were you..Id be buying my fuel from a different place!! I buy regular over the road diesel from my local BP station...20 gal at a time. Im "pretty sure" they are more worried about giving some dude with a 50K Mercedes a bad bunch of fuel ..as compared to my tractor...ya think? I'll continue to buy FRESH fuel from where I presently do!

?? Never could understand why someone buys a BUM product..complains about it...then turns right around and does it again?..Interesting!!

First time and last time I bought fuel there, I could have dumped 50 gal. of fuel because of some water from a place I had never purchased from before, but with the funnel, I didn't have to and it will catch any water that condenses in the tank. I didn't say it was a BUM product, I stated that it had water in it, and I didn't say that I had bought fuel there again.

Wasnt referring to YOU and your fuel...but it seems like a lot of people "complain"..or ??"comment" that THIER fuel isnt much..or any..or ??..good ( poor quailty) GOT to be more than ONE PLACE they can buy fuel...and if it were me..Id chose "the other" place..!!

Most all stations now have water level sensors and monitors in their underground tanks. In fact I believe it is now mandatory per EPA regs. I could always tell the amount of water in any of my underground tanks by just flipping a dial and reading the digital readout.

Funny how city folks just don't understand that we don't have the same luxuries out in the country as they have.

Where I live, it's a 20 mile round-trip drive to the closest fuel station. It's a 50 mile round-trip drive to the closest station with "good" fuel. It's a 77 mile round-trip to get "premium" diesel and 60 mile round-trip to get off-road diesel.

Sure makes the filtering funnel seem like a wise economic investment. :D
