I was looking for a funnel because on all of my diesel cans the plastic spout is missing or broke. I did a search for diesel funnels when saw the Mr. Funnel website and decided this was a way to solve my wories about dirty fuel from my cans/service station and get a large funnel to stop the spills on the hood. I just ordered it so I hope it's worth the $24.

Saying nothing about whether or not Mr. Funnel is a worthwhile investment, new diesel cans can be had for about $6.

Underground and above ground tanks usually have water in the bottom of them. That is why the pickup on an underground tank is located a fixed distance above the bottom so it cannot pull the water off the bottom of the tank. As long as water doesn't get that deep in the tank, it is not a problem. Above ground tanks should be sloped so that the water flows to the opposite end of the tank, away from the outlet where fuel is drained from the tank. Either needs to have regular maintenance to remove the water.

Funny how city folks just don't understand that we don't have the same luxuries out in the country as they have.

Where I live, it's a 20 mile round-trip drive to the closest fuel station. It's a 50 mile round-trip drive to the closest station with "good" fuel. It's a 77 mile round-trip to get "premium" diesel and 60 mile round-trip to get off-road diesel.

Sure makes the filtering funnel seem like a wise economic investment. :D

CITY people??? Its quite apparrant you dont know MY street address...lol "Distance to get fuel"?? About 45 feet for me...thats the distance from my front door to where the DELIVERY TRUCK backs up to!!! Anything more than 350 gallons...NO DELIVERY CHARGE!!! My "farmer" buddy just got $1200 worth last week!

I know they are $6 but those nozzles always leak and it won't be long before they break. And since I store them under a carport they do get dirty, some of that dirt can get inside when handled. Hopefully the funel will help with spills and leaks also.

I think that Mr. Funnel is a neat product. The funnel looks especially useful if you are using 5 gal jugs. I plan on getting one soon.

Right now, I have a portable fueling setup which consists of a 55 gal drum, a hand pump and a particulate filter between the pump and the filler hose. This is a handy setup for me since I dont mess with 5 gallon jugs.

In my case, I'll have to figure out how to put the fuel hose spout into Mr. Funnel and keep the refueling a one man job...

Replace the hand pump with an air or electric pump then you can steady the funnel with one hand and handle the fill hose with the other.
