Muhammed a little help please!

To be totally flexible, it would be best to have your search preferences stored in your profile.

Altho, like most everyone here, my search defaults are:

"all forums"
"and" (this does change at times)
"all posts"
"100" (for number of results per page)

According to my (perhaps poor) recollection, we had a thread very similar to this one some time ago, with the consensus favoring the "all forums" default.

So there must be more to getting it than just agreeing that most would prefer it!(?)

You are correct I believe. It was already decided to change to "all forums" for the search default. Most likely the thing that got in the way of this change was the speed problems and server change of a few months ago. Muhammad will in all likelihood get this done with the next round of site upgrades. Whenever that is ... This board has grown substantially over the past 6-8 months, now with several hundred posts every day. It is quite a bit of housekeeping for Muhammad to keep track of everything and do updates as well. I guess we have to be patient.
