Thanks. I have been busy with snow here and calling a doctors office 60 times before I could get an answer. REAL medical issues are NOT important.
I noticed ESSEX manufacturing out of TEXAS that made Mule accessories is no more. Sad. It was a GREAT company. I wanted to discuss my tires, I bought from them, with regard to chains.
I have been doing some reading. Not really much you can do for snow beyond what a certain tire size is good for. I always noticed that once you approach half the height of the tire, you are fighting a loosing battle. I understand chains can just dig you in better.
I also read something interesting. The Diff lock on my mule requires some distance for engaging. So getting stuck, and engaging it in difficult conditions is a problem. It's maybe why the owner of ESSEX once suggested that I use 2wd and diff lock as a default over 4wd and no diff lock.
GOOD NEWS today. I finally found an aftermarket oil filter for the 2510 Diesel from HI-FLOW. Part number HF129. A UK based after market company mostly for Bikes, I guess. All other filters I found were a quarter inch or too long. In Fact, I think I bashed a Car Quest filter a little flatter rather than pay Kawi $27.00 CDN. These filters are around ten bucks.
RUSTY IRON. Enjoy your old style Mule. I was super pisssed as I waited for the apparent new body style to come out and when it didn't bought the old style and then of course the new one came out. NO REGRETS though. I LOVE that the paassenger can stretch their legs out.
