Hmmm? looks the same as the previous link. Not sure what makes it true from what this link has to offer. But I am just a bit suspicious, by nature. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The sky has no color variation but the 2 pics with sky do have terrain variation (location of bushes). The fog you're talking about, in the third pic, looks like it could be dust kicked up by the mule's hooves.

"The sky also has no variation."

Does every square foot of sky in your state have some variation. A picture taken with mere seconds and held in almost exactly the same position is unlikely to reveal sky variation. There are days here in California where you could look East or West and not get variation. Rather then foggy as you suggest, I agree with Billy, that it is dust. The dry vegetation would indicate the soil is dry.

There are certainly arguments, I don't find that one valid. Snopes is actually quite good at these things, give them a try, they go into far more detail then you can imagine identifying fakes.

I'm sure you have all seen the Tsunami photos. So far everyone that I have received is a fake as determined by Snopes. They go as far as to say that the steering wheels in the cars are on the wrong side and traffic is wrong for that time of day. In other photos, they are not fakes, but they are also not the Tsunami that just happened.

I got those pics months ago in my email.

I have bigger versions, and in my opinion (not very educated with regards to photo editing) and that of others (with much more knowledge) the pictures are not fake.

However.....

The story is probably a fabrication. More then likely the cat was taken down with a Winchester 303 that should be sitting in that saddle holster. The horse probably only moved in later and tossed it's lifeless (which it appears to be) body around.

It could have been shot but would another animal have interest in a dead animal like that? Particularly a mule or horse. To watch my dogs, when something is dead, they often times leave it alone.

The cheapest of digital and insta-matic cameras take better pictures than these. Why are all the levels, brightness and contrasts so poor? Look at the reins in the 3rd pic, on the left they are illuminated from the mouth down to the ground but the right side is completely black, no illumination whatsoever. Also your "dust" (which I did considered) totally blocks out the shadow above the cat, not likely. As to the sky, I still maintain that the lack of variation is a result of applying to much cyan saturation, its a common problem when editing pics. Download the picture and adjust the cyan slider in photoshop to -100, everything in the photo changes hue EXCEPT the sky. If the photos are real why would they need to be manipulated?

I suppose if we could see the originals which may easily have been taken by a throw away type camera which could account for what looks extra use of USM when looking at the mule. The funny thing is, once a picture goes from a 4X6 through a scanner by a person with very little photographic education and using methods like auto fix for photos, stranger things have happened. My Epson R300 is still not dialed into my monitor and obviously your familair with the RGB to CYMK issue. Even digital has had odd affects for folks, I've seen tractor photos here. I typically use Elements anymore over Photoshop 7 which is great and I have it, I just don't use anything more on it then I do Elements.
