About 15years ago... the last time I sprained my ankle, I was at my niece's house and her bulldog came over to me and licked my left ankle for a good 30 minutes. Not my right, but my left sprained ankle. I don't know how he knew and I don't know if it helped but it sure felt good at the time!

My shop dog is very attentive to me. If I have a cut or scrape on my hand and pet him, he'll always want to lick the wound. Now that might be that's he's drawn to the smell of blood. But he acts like it's a sympathetic and helpful gesture.

So. We need to add SHOP DOG to the list.
