Interesting post and responses. Someone else mentioned it but , for me, living in South a sun canopy was a game changer for me. I don't enjoy the summer heat much but sitting in the shade with at least the breeze from the moving tractor isn't too bad.

I致e also heard wheel spinners referred to as suicide knobs, but always about automobiles. I have a couple from the 1940痴. I have never been able to find an auto they fit on.

A lot of good ideas but don稚 forget a flashlight ( to find oil dipstick and multiple hidden grease fittings underneath)

.... possibly a newer set of sockets (Hard to find what sizes are needed - I have a Tekton set that goes up to 1-1/4" and 24 mm),

It may actually be worth getting a set of 1/2" impact sockets so you don't have to buy another set when/if you get an impact wrench.

Personally I went with the 1/2" Sunex Master sets for both SAE and Metric which range from 3/8" to 1-1/2" and from 9mm to 30mm respectively.

A good set of combination wrenches is also handy. There's some nice Husky branded sets that will cover smaller sizes and shapes other than hex-head (which was handy since there's one square-headed metric bolt on my tractor that needs to be removed & reinstalled as part of greasing the front axle pivot). 1/2" extensions are also handy/required for re-torquing wheels and other harder to access fasteners.
