When I decided to get a larger tractor and sell my L2900 I was looking at the L4400 as well, fortunately I saw a MX5100 and for the minimal price difference I went with it. I did look at the MX4700 as well and aside from the turbocharged engine you got the Class I/II 3point hitch with the extendable hitch arms and that clinched the deal. To-date I love the MX5100 and even though it does have a couple of annoyances it is a fantastic machine.

Oh yeah bud, all those extras on top sealed the deal for me, couldnt believe how much more you would get for a minimal amount more. Like I said tho, that 4400 was no joke for its size, but looking into the future I knew I needed that bigger machine, and now I sleep like a baby knowing I really got what I wanted.

Worked most of the evening running Hydro lines from the rear ports to the front for the new grapple bucket that is supposed to come tomorrow! Cant wait to try it out and see how it really works. Looks like I may have to deforest our property... Well at least that is what my wife is worried about!

Now that I want to see pics of! I have been considering a grapple but it's a lot money considering I need to pickup some QA forks ($800+) and have been considering a 3pt splitter ($1100). But a grapple would be cheaper than the hydro thumb for my BH!

Forgot to add toothbar....another $400+. When does it ever stop???

That's the joy of it! Always more to add.

The "WildKat" Rock grapple came in today and I got it picked up from the depot.
First thing I noticed is that it is VERY heavy duty and well built. It weights in at 550lbs so it is heavy but I don't believe this is too heavy for the 5100. I ended up ordering the rock bucket over the lighter grapple due to my uses. The light duty (still pretty heavy duty) is about $300 less but I want it to dig rocks and move trees so I thought the thicker steel maybe better. I also like the fact that the rock bucket is enclosed in the back thus protecting the tractor a bit more. The other advantage in my case was the bucket came with 4 weld on replaceable digging teeth, I feel this will help with digging out my rocks and scraping brush together when cleaning up downed trees.
Attached below is two quick photos I shot tonight before I took it out to play....

Nice looking piece of equipment. The MX5100 will handle that bucket with no problem.
Hope it serves you well.

A question for you MX5100 owners. Will the MX5100 take a one ton pallet off a truck and is it able to set the one ton pallet on a truck. My L4610 will take a pallet off using the curl function only, but it will not lift the pallet off, nor can it lift it onto the truck/trailer. I have been looking at a new larger tractor for the past year or so and need the one ton capability on the loader. Just wanted to get your thoughts and experience. I have been looking at the L45 but the MX5100 would be a lot cheaper. Thanks!

What loader is on your 4610?
