I'm not sure this is the proper forum for this question but....

I have a block heater that I'm going to put in/on my Kubota MX5000. the instrustion say that the best place to put it requires the hydraulic pump to be removed. Just curious why it can not be installed on the other side of the engine where there is easy access to the frost plugs?

Usually there is something like a cylinder liner that's in the way so the manufacturer will specify where the block heater should be installed. Some even require a certain orientation of the element.

It would be ashamed if you knocked out a core plug and found the heater wouldn't install there. But it sure is a dumb design that would require you remove the hydraulic pump to install the block heater. Talk to the tech's at your nearest dealer and see what they advise.
