My 1601D Yanmar won't Idle?

Thanks Everybody who replied and to HoyeTractors for their diagrams.
I went straight to Hoyes and went to they're interactive parts lookup (1500D) for my engine and there it was DISC PLATE Wah-Hoo. I know this is the problem, now that I think about it and will fix tommorow!

yes, That friction disk will go bad (wear out) over time. You have to rember,that disk may have been on the tractor since it (the tractor ) was new 20 ??? yrs ago. Good luck

hey, let me ask you guys a question... on my 1601, while plowing a long row or hogging a long run on field, i notice a drop in rpms--- i then push the throttle lever forward a bit (or is it back, can't remember between the tractors..)... Anyway, could this be throttle disk related? thank you.

I think your throttle disk is slipping. Both Yanmars I bought I had to tighten the disk. Think maybe yours just needs tightening.

I had to tighten mine too. It did the same thing. Would be set at 2200 and 10 minutes later it would be down to 2000.

My disk was just worn out period. I purchased a new one & now all works great !
