MY 2012 5085M At the dealers!

This tractor was stolen at approx 3-4:30 last night, Edward has just found it, here is a picture he sent me of it

Under 220 hours, front glass broken, transmission unshiftable, driven into the ditch with everything on. Any hope?

Glad he found it....I assume it was found fairly close to the farm.....hard to tell if there was much damage done. Kids on a joy ride I wonder??

They break into the cab, or was it not locked?

They had a key for it (JD uses a universal key), He only had a truck stolen last month to!!!

I never understood why equipment manufacturers use a universal key.

Sounds like he needs to get serious with some anti theft / theft deterrent measures. I am in the same boat. My shop gets hit once a year. Never took a tractor, but did get a pretty new arctic cat 4 wheeler, not to mention a boat load of tools the last time.

Yes insurance. About 5 minutes away. I tried pulling it out of the drink but I snapped my chain and plus its deadweight cause it wont shift or even start calling dealer tomorrow. Tried with the 7230R no hope.

John Deere sells security kits for most of their tractors now (I have one on my 5115M) different keys to get into the cab, locking fuel cap, locking hood and locking hydraulic fluid cap.

Dealer said I didn't need it but I insisted on the kit due to so many people having deeres around here plus the next day after delivery the delivery truck was stolen and a full set of master keys was taken out of it, good thing I got that kit cause they won't work for my locks.

That's pretty sad that they would go through such extremes to take what we all work so hard to get.

Had a truck, 5085m and they even tried for the forklift!
