Haha that made me laugh. Don't get me wrong I still really like the tractor but I don't want to keep going there every month.

Now for an update. I went to the dealer today and they removed the drive shaft cover to see where it was leaking from. However they couldn't tell where it was coming from. They couldn't see a leak. So now I'll wait and see what fluid level goes down, likely the front axle again.

I'll update again later.

Mine didn't leak enough to detect it by checking the fluid levels, just a few drops detected under the tractor when parked.

My front axle was low yesterday by almost 3 litres. So the dealership has now topped. it off and if it goes low again that will be deemed the culprit. Apearantly the fluid level is just above the lower level of the seal. So not much fluid can get out from there normally. However I was doing a lot of driving up and down hill driving through a ditch. Back and forth moving some gravel making a road. So this up and down and moving the axle like a teeter totter would raise the level higher than normal. I was also bush cutting a field with a lot of up and down and side hill motions.

I will update when I know.

Thanks for the update, I will be curious and hoping for the best result.

I sure am frustrated with this tractor. I bought it in June and it's been back to the dealer 3 times already, this will be the forth time. I am really not liking the orange right now. This is my 3rd Kubota and it was to be my final tractor so to speak. I may have another one coming yet but will it be orange???
This is on page 2 of the above thread.

Your leak is from the seal that seals the shaft for the 4wd from the transmission. It may not leak bad now, but it will get worse. There's a circlip, sealing bushing, seal, spacer, bearing, and another sealing bushing. When you pull the shaft out, you'll lose the coupler that attaches the shaft to the transmission, and you'll have to fish that and the sealing bushing out of the transmission housing. On a 40 series, you will not be able to get the coupler out of the housing, so the trick is to get it on the end of the shaft, and attach it to the shaft in the transmission. It's a trick..... I've done a few....

Replace the bearing, both sealing bushings, and seal. I believe they leak because the 4wd is left engaged in conditions that don't require it, especially on hard surfaces, and that shaft actually flexs, taking the seal out over time

Do you mind sharing the trick to not lose, or to fish back the coupler?

Hi guys. I want to update you on this problem. The local dealer came though for me a few months ago. Seams Kubota put together a program to fix the leaks. They split my tractor, changed both seals and the throw out bearing while it was apart. I paid approximately one third of the bill. I also had to pay for the bearing and a housing. For less than a grand it was repaired for me. Not free by any means but I feel it was reasonable. I also have a friend who had hid repaired also.

I was curious about this too as I think my 4WD driveshaft slipped forward a bit too much when replacing my pinion seal and now I've got a hydraulic leak and it feels like 4WD doesn't engage. I'm fearing the worst that I may now have to split the tractor (mines an L5030).
