John Deere 3320
I know the local John Deere dealer will have me fix up by the end of next week, but. A little history first, I'm the only John Deere owner on the block. Every other owner has a Craftsman of Kubota (BX2200 or better), I was told to go with Kubota when I asked my neighbor, which brand he would go with. I told him that I bleed green and yellow and orange was crap or at it's the very best sub par to my deere ( at that time I own a 757) . I also bragged to the other neighbor that green was the way to go (end of story). Today I was mowing on my 2210 (with only 49 hours on it and a full tank of diesel) when the engine went dead, no warning, no other trouble, just went dead and would not start up any more. My truck had a yard of dirt on it and a semi flat tire. So using my truck to drag the 2210 to the my shop was not an option. I had to either leave the 2210 park by the road and unload all that dirt by myself ( on the truck and the yard and a half on the trailer attached to the truck) or ask the neighbor to bring his Kubota BX2200 to drag the deere to my shop 2 acres away. I debated back and fourth and finally decided to ask the neighbor for his help. He towed the 2210 down the road for 500 hundred feet in front of all my other neighbors then to my shop. I was SOOOOO embarrassed I put my head down in shame. My neighbor smile and said, "maybe you should have went with Kubota."
I know the dealer will fix it but the shame of orange towing my green and yellow 2210 down the road and up a hill was devastating.

Thats funny /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I think I would have tore that thing appart piece by piece and carried each back to the shop. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif But have no fear, you will have the last laugh because in 10yrs when he is shopping for A new replacment, you will be running strong. Let us know what happend.

Adios, Mike

My JD mower stopped running similar to your tractor. Seat switch was not working properly. Tightened the screw sthat hold switch to seat. Problem solved. Hope yours is something similar.

I'll bet it is something simple like that. My 2210 has just over 130 hrs. now and has never let me down! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Don't sweat it. In the last five years I have towed two Cub Cadets, a Kubota garden tractor and a Woods commercial mower, and a Ford 8N across lawns in my rural "neighborhood." Someone, somewhere will make up for your isolated embarassment /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Think of it this way. I would rather be towed on my Deere than drive a kubota. Their turn is coming.

With the price of fuel being what it is, I would just tell them You were saving fuel /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Good luck

Your going to be really embarassed when you find out you did something silly like unplug the seat switch or get the PTO switch pulled hafway up. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
I'd just be thankfull for good natured neighbors. In fact I would have taken a photo just to be a good sport. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

hodoms,
I'd certainly buy a (repair) manual for that thing. I know it's darn near new, but just having the manual as a reference tool is pretty cheap insurance.
Even if you aren't mechanically inclined, it will get you through most of the tough spots and get you more familiar with a new machine, quicker.

Well,
Don't leave us here in the dark!
What has the dealer said was the problem?
Did they get a chance to look at it yet?
