I'm glad to see you got such a good deal! I've never been able to find a good deal on anything at auctions, there's always someone there willing to pay near new prices for old stuff that they don't even know if it works or not.

I watched them toss out a TV no one bid on. No electric in the barn to try it.
Then saw a 5' Caroni RFM go for over $600???
Then a 1987 Ford T-Bird Turbo Coupe only brought $800.
A non-running, no keys, no title, fiberglass bodied dune buggy sold for $2000.
Who can figure it out?

Take a look at my web page to see what I did with a 42" front blade on my YM1301D. I used cables and sheaves to lift it with the rear 3pt hitch. I attached a photo here for a quick look.

Actually Greg I dug your website up this morning because I knew you had done it /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
I've got a 42" out in the shop that I had for my Craftsman, but it was just too small, where as this 52" will be just about right.

42" is too narrow for my tractor too. I've got a line on a JD 54" hydraulic lift and angle front blade. The 1301D has a quick detach loader that leaves the hydraulic valves on the tractor, so I've already got the hydraulics. Unfortunately, if I remember right, the JD317 it came with uses only about 600psi hydraulics. I don't know if the cylinders will take the higher hydraulic pressure of the tractor.

Can you get a regulator/relief valve to reduce the pressures?

A relief valve was pretty much what I had in mind. Or I might just be able to replace the cylinders with higher pressure rated cylinders. I kind of like the relief valve idea better as it might protect the blade better from overstressing with too much hydraulic force.

Well, here it is mounted. The blade is raised by the 3ph in the rear, using cables, pulleys. There are a few glitches, but I can work them out.
