That is a nice, simple, and inexpensive mount. Thanks for posting.

Please fill us in on where you sourced the lights and how they work.

Milkman,

Thanks for your kind words. It took me awhile to find the mount I would be happy with and one of my criteria was keeping it simple! The LEDs were sourced from eBay LEDStores. Great people to work with and they had them delivered really fast! I tested the lights the other night and I couldn't believe the difference they make. I'll definitely be able to work a lot safer at night now that I have these installed!

Dan,

Hope you enjoy your set as much as I do. They seem really well built and rugged enough for a tractor application. How long have you had yours? Still happy, with them?

got mine off of amazon, 4 for 100 bucks. they are GREAT!!!!! i think they have been on for about 6 months or so. i started out having trouble with the switch i bought from the auto parts house, after i complelty switched styles i have had no issues. i have not had any issues with the battery which is what i was a little worried about since i did not get the upgraded alternator, dynamo, flux capicitor, or what ever bota calls it. love em!!

How about posting a pic of your AUX light setup?

Just el-cheapo standard tractor lights I had kicking around, I'd rather LEDs but why not use these that I already had. I installed first, then when I did my rear remote installation, I tied the two mounts together. Looking at it tonight, if I move the rear light in and back just enough to drill a new hole, I could raise them and the valve another 2". Since they are about ear height on me, I had to make a shield to keep from blinding myself when I turn around or reflecting off my glasses. Shield is a piece of old aluminum shovel from the junk pile held on with a hose clamp. I intend on a matching pair for the other ROPS post, just haven't gotten there yet.

Grote switches mounted in the removable panel, room for one more if I want.

Farm Boy,

Thanks for posting those pics of your setup. Always good to see how fellow TBNers tackle different challenges. I like how you combined the two mounts - seems to work very well. I know what you mean about needing a shield now that I've tried mine out at night, I may be making a few adjustments as the LED floods cast a pretty wide beam that catches my peripheral vision and boy are they ever bright!

FTG-05,

Thanks for your questions.

The stainless steel square U-bolts came from Pacific Trailers - they specialize in marine trailer parts. The fit is perfect for the ROPs on the L-series.

The switches came from eBay seller Komsa out of Texas. Fast delivery and even helped when I had wiring questions to get the LED lights to show when switched on.

Hope this information was helpful!

Well dang you guys seem satisfied with these lights. Do they cast the whiter light rather then standard halogen yellow? It always seems to me that the whiter light makes it easier to see a lot of things like pot holes, ridges, dips and anything else that's contour related. I may have to get me a few of these because I just have standard cheapy halogens on mine right now..

Jason,

The basic answer to your question is "yes", the light is much brighter and whiter than the halogen work light that I purchased from Kubota when I bought the tractor new. I'm super satisfied with these new lights and with winter coming up soon, I'm sure I'll get some good use from them while out plowing in the early mornings (before work) and evenings (after work). Some day I'll trade in my open station tractor for a cabbed version, that way I won't have to dress up like an Eskimo whenever I want to go outside to plow. To be honest, the only thing that has stopped me from taking that step up till now is that I couldn't fit it in my garage (door is barely tall enough to clear the ROPS) and I refuse to store a tractor outside. Some day I'll get around to building my dream barn, but until then, it just means an extra few minutes to put on all the gear.

Take care,

Thomas
