My back deck build

Thanks Eddie, i had never thought of that scenario. The deck i asked about is hopefully going to
be covered with a roof this year, so i won't worry to much about it if i do. I do have a front deck that
wraps around 2 sides of the house, and that has the lattice which we hate. There is a drawback
to the lattice, snow blows in during the winter and accumulates, then when it starts to melt it melts
towards the basement wall first and has no where to go, so i get a little seepage into the basement.
Never wet down there once things thaw out. I had thought about enclosing under that deck to reduce the amount
of snow that accumulated and seeing if that stops the water from going down into the basement in the spring,
that room was finished but i have torn up flooring and removed baseboards pending a solution.

Wow, I forgot I had a thread on a deck build, I would have been updating it a bit more. Summer has been very busy, as we like to spend most days I have off work at the lake boating and playing in the sand.

I finished most of the skirting around the deck and started the landscaping. There are still a few things needing finishing, like beside the stairs, the access door to underneath and the trim between the decking and the skirting. My two little helpers decided to stack up a pile of the river rock last night, just for the fun of it, oh well.

Also, we had a concrete company in to finally pour the front sidewalk of our house. While they were here we decided to have a rear patio pad poured near the deck. On this pad I want to, one day when money allows, build a stone fireplace and have a pergola/gazebo. You will notice the led lighting in the corners of the pad and down each edge of the sidewalk.
