We had a 36" culvert in this creek at one time but got one of those once in a blue moon rains that washed it out. We replaced it with the railroad truss timbers which are still in good shape after twenty+ years.
When I bought my new trailer I had the wide version built. The first time I drove it across the bridge I wasn't concerned until I looked in the rear view mirror as the truck was clearing the bridge and saw the trailer tires on both sides hanging half way off the boards. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif The next time across I was being real cautious, watching what I was doing, and couldn't keep from dropping one side off............!@#$% what a pain!!! That is when I decided it was time to replace the bridge.
The grates I bought were 20' long and I cut them in half to make 10' sections. The bridge is now 2 foot wider than before and much easeir to cross.
One thing I like about this product is that unlike other decking materials the grating will not hold water or be slick in inclement weather. Hopefully, knock on wood, it won't wash out either.
