My bucket\'s too wide

I've got a 72" bucket but need to spread gravel on trails at only 4 ft of width....any wider than 4 ft. is a waste of material.

Does anyone here know of an attachment to the bucket (besides a new 4ft wide bucket) that can be used to dump the gravel and funnel it into a narrower width? I'm thinking about a few oddly shaped pieces of plywood chained to the bucket ends after I scoop up a load of gravel...ugly but it'd work...once or twice at least.

How much room do you have on the sides of these trails? Can you get perpendicular to the trail and dump your loads that way?

That's exactly the type of thing I was looking for...thanks a bunch. I think I can build a 'manual' version of the same easily enough.

There are some places where I can get perpendicular to the trail to dump, but this type of a chute would be much better.
