EDIT: The check valve was in backwards, its running forward now but while switching it around I noticed that the anvil was about to fall out, apparently need to check every nut and bolt on auction machines.

I bought a "2023 SUIHE SSW-C Skid Steer Chipper" from Ritchey Brothers auctions. The company exists but it does not list a chipper. It was new, but a mess. All the blades were mounted improperly with the wrong bolts, all of which were loose, many were stripped, etc. After getting all the hardware in order and assembled (replacing the stripped bolts with grade 8 M8x1.25x16, etc) , I hooked it to my skid steer loader and "what do you know" but it will only go backwards. When I set the pump to forward, it just sounds like the fluid is by bypassing the motor. When I put it in reverse, the chipper turns in reverse (not so helpful for chipping as the wood gets thrown back out of the chute). So, I figured I would just reverse the fittings (which I did). So now when I run the hydraulics forward, the chipper turns backwards. When I run the hyudraulics in reverse it sounds like its bypassing the motor and nothing happens. The motor is a "DANFOSS OMS 80 HYDRAULIC MOTOR" I tried looking it up but I cannot find anything about it only running in one direction. There is a fitting inbetween the lines (maybe it is some kind of check valve or pressure release?) I cannot find any information.

Are you using the case drain?

Certainly looks like it. Maybe recheck your hydraulics routing.

I would suspect there is a run down check in the circuit for that motor to prevent high pressure spikes from the flywheel inertia when stopping. I could not see the plumbing in your pictures so not sure where it is located.

no, not really sure what it is for actually. its capped off with a smaller coupling than the main ones.

Now that you've got folks trying to offer help, I'll chime in...

Where your chipper is working in reverse, are you feeding it wood chips as it spits out brush?

In the 3rd picture there appears to be solenoid operated valve right behind what appears to be tee fittings. Do you know what this valve connects to or operates? In the picture it looks like it might just connect the two lines together.
