That's funny. But I bet if someone was really in trouble here that TBN'ers would step up to the plate.

Fortunately, if Dash needs an MRI and surgery it would be a real pain and put the credit card in a place I don't want it to be but it wouldn't mean that I couldn't put food on the table. I'd mostly just be thinking about that toothbar, hydraulic top link, cultipacker, dump trailer, canopy top........etc.....etc..... that would have to go a even further down the old wish list.

Now, if you want to start an Pimp George's Kubota fund then I'm all for it!

Yep, that can happen in less than the blink of an eye.....but I've explained to my son (and 15 year old daughter) how to prevent that from happening before due time. I'd like to have a little more gray before then.

Labs are my favorite kind of dogs.

Me too Dave. I think for a lot of people they just seem to be too plain and boring. And for some people they are just too big. They shed too much. They stink when they're wet and some of them are food crazy. But as far as temperament goes, I just don't think they can be beat. And Dash, even though he is AKC registered, is maybe the ugliest Lab I've ever seen, he's also the sweetest and smartest I've ever seen. And in general, Labs just seem to be sweet and I like that in a dog.

It's been 3 more days, how is Dash doing?

Much better. Still wobbly in the rear but seems to feel fine. If he gets going too fast, which he wants to do, he still falls over sometimes. Has a very hard time coming down steps.

Right now I'm working on a ramp to get him into the car. He has to go to the vet tomorrow and I will not be there to load him into the car. We have a PetSmart here but the ramps they have were too small or flimsy and very expensive. So being the good Scottish fellow that I am, I've been cutting and gluing up thick cardboard that a mattress came in to make a homemade ramp. Looks like a Mythbusters project.....and it just might work!

I sure hope that works out for you. I would test it ahead of time.

Mine love to ride in the back of the truck, and when one had a bum leg and had trouble jumping in, I made a ramp for her. No matter what enticement I used, she wouldn't set foot on that ramp.

I am convinced that when God created dogs, He first made all the other breeds, and then, having honed His skills to the utmost, He created Labradors.

They are always happy, and always trying to please a human.

The cardboard Myth Busters ramp looked really good. Many layers glued together. Impeccably engineered. A thing of beauty. Felt very solid. Dash hesitated a second, but he always does whatever we tell him to but instead of going up it slowly he jumped and it folded like a house of cards. Fortunately he did not get hurt at all.

It does not embarrass me at all to be a cheap son-of-a-gun, but to be cheap and incompetent is pretty bad.

Anyway, we'll have to work something else out to get Dash in the car in the morning. The vet techs will help get him out.
