Looking good JC, although I have 2 suggestions which you probably already have thought of anyway. 1) make a hindged lid for the chain box to keep out the rain and snow. Put the hindge on the side away fron the seat (far rear) so you can access the box from the seat. 2) Add a big heavy washer between the seat belt bolts and the seat belt straps. Just to make sure they don't pull around the bolt head during a roll over. (remember the Hyatt Disaster's cause) Ray's quips.

Thanks Ray,

I was thinking about the hinged door but wanted to make it easy to put the chain and take out along as easy as I can. I did put four 1/4" drain hole in the bottom if I get water in. Tractor is always stored in the barn as well. I do have lock washer on the bottom and the faster (high grade)is good and tight. are you saying to add big washer where I bolted the strap to the bracket I made pictured below?

Thanks,
JC,

I bend the loop more on a heavy vice and the bolt is not coming off but sure can add a washer there as well.

That is where I would put the washer and I would make it the same diameter as the strap turned into the circle (looks like about 1 1/2"). On the outside of the strap and held in place with the present bolt. A piano hinge on the box lid would open 3/4 turn to hang down and out of the way on the outside of your slow moving triangle when opened.

I'm going to pick some tomatoes there tomorrow morning and will add the washer.. the bolt is long enough to accommodate a washer. Sounds good on Piano hinge.

Wow, great job on the ROPS! I sure wish my Yanmar had a canopy, at-least I have factory ROPS on it.

thanks:) I was not able to find a OEM ROPS ,but I'd take my chances on my design rather than after market stuff that I researched. I'd probably make the canopy a bit longer but the small one I made sure makes a heck of difference in the hot sun.

As a 1700 owner I like what you did. I also can't find a rops. I do have a question, how wide is your channel you use, 24".

yes it is 24" long (wide) 6" channel. I don't have my tables here but it is the heavier per foot 6" channel. it is as wide as OEM and the upright are about 1/2" shy of hitting the fenders.
