My F-1700 testing my patience

I am coming in late on this, if you lower the 3 point, does the noise go away? If so the lever may need adjusting. Mine was making noise when lifted to max height but the noise went away when lowered some, but the 3 point was still at max height. If so this is an external adjustment, not internal.

na noise is was still there, now i have adjusted the control valve to specs and installed and adjust control arm link and relief valve, noise is not at bad first eveything seems to work at first then when hydraulics get hot , noise increases and like a sputtering noise is heard from relief valve through hard small line to pump, and the 3 point acts up it doesnt want to lift when commanded to , then all of a sudden it will just raise up fast like the pump came on or a valve opened.

poppet valve has a conical shape and goes in only in one direction. Are you sure you have the orientation right ? I f you take the poppet out of the relief assembly then the hyd pump will not make much pressure but will have flow. Might not be able to lift the arm. why don't you take the poppet and spring out to see if you hear any noise or vibration. This would not hurt anything but might reveal something.

Ok I will try that thank you. It looks like it is correct the spring sets in the poppet and goes one direction and the relief is adjusted at 2000 psi, I will take it out tonight and try it

I took out the poppet and spring and noise did stop you can feel small vibration on the small line going to pump but no noise and of course no psi , what do you think control valve or relief valve?

What happens when you manipulate the lift lever, all the way up or down.Any change in vibration or noise? can you post the pic of relief valve in it's entirety ? one that shows spring and poppet. Try it also with the pin and feed back arm removed from right lift arm and see the difference you might observe. Post back.

Ps. do you see any shims in the relief valve by any chance?

I just had a similar problem with my 1700, the 3 point would be down and when I was running my brush hog and wanted to lift it higher to clear some stumps it wouldn't raise until several minutes later and then it went up. It also was very slow to warm up and start working properly. It was very slow to raise, especially during cold weather. I corrected my problem by changing the transmission / hydrolic fluid and cleaning the filter. Problem was water in the fluid and a dirty suction filter. Maybe your filter is so clogged that the pump has too work to hard to circulate the fluid, then it gets hot.

Question, when you changed the trans fluid, did you take out the suction filter and clean it? It is very important to clean that filter. If you didn't clean it, that may be the cause of your noise and slow lift problems.

Ya I have removed it 3 times and cleaned it and changed fluid now fluid is clean and looks good.
