that pic is the adjusting nuts for the spool length, no i dont think it was ever in that position before it was dissembled, yes i took apart and measured and put back, is that pic the neutral position that it should be in ?

I have not adjusted the spool length for any reason in the past. there are oil passage ways in the spool piece and obviously can block or divert oil incorrectly. I can't comment on that without research. if you shorten the length of the adjusting right it will limit the height of 3 point before it relieves oil thru spool to the diffy. The hyd pump is a constant volume flow pump for any given RPM of the engine. "Neutral" means when you divert fluid back to the diffy reservoir to not dead head the hyd pump. so , neutral position is not one spot only , at any given height of the 3 point the unused oil has to be returned. The feed back arm controls that. I will try to research if I get a chance this weekend.

ok thanks for the help

I just had a chance to look at my shop manual to see adjustment for the spool valve. Attached you will find what to check and clearances required on Fig. 288 and component break down on fig. 286. Now, this is not the work I ever needed to do and do not have hands on experience on it. If I were you, I would slowly disassemble the spool and compare and contrast with the manual, making sure everything is there. would check the check valve in the spool, would check to see if all passage ways are open and clean. I would check for the scratches and rust. I would use a very fine emery cloth and very gently remove rust if any. Take pics as you disassemble to make sure to put things back as you found them and at the end do check the clearances
per manual. good luck.

It is IT FO-44 that I bought from Tractor Supply Many years ago for about I think $20. It does cover all 1000 series Ford Tractor made by Shibaura. You have to be able to sort out the info for your particular tractor. The directions are not always complete and requires a bit of mechanical aptitude for the rest. let me know if you need a particular subject and I try to post it.
