Well that is certainly a nice gift even if it was from you to you.
My fathers day present was a nice surprise visit from Laurie my middle daughter who live north of Houston Tx. She snuck in and surprised us with her 2 daughters. We got another surprise the following day when the baby daughter snuck in from Denver for a fathers day surprise. About 5 days later, was surprised again when Laurie's husband showed up also. He had flown in from work in Northern Alberta Canada. This was his first visit (it took 6 years to get him here)to our new home and was a really good surprise. He works much like I did for many years with 6-8 weeks of work and 10 days off so most of his free time is spent catching up with personal business at home so not much way to travel 7 hours from home and visit.
So I ended up with 3 father's day surprises which was much better than a gift of something that I might not use or need. According to all my kids and wife, I am very hard to gift since if I need something, I buy it and don't wait for a birthday, anniversary or holiday to come, therefore, I don't NEED much so a welcomed visit was a great gift.
Wife and I are promised a complete family reunion for Christmas this year. It will be the first time in 6 years that all the kids (5)with their families have been home for the holidays.
