My First Real Tractor!

I picked in up in Helfin AL. Was listed on Facebook as "Diesel Tractor" haha.

Maybe they thought it had too, these days with the lawsuit maybe they were worried about legal action or the add being pulled useing the yanmar name? Although I don't think it would apply to private sales?

Don't bother with a temp sender. Yanmar designed these things right in the first place. Replace the sender if you are concerned about it.

It seems every new owner - me included, 14 years ago - starts off thinking the tractor needs a temperature gauge. It doesn't. The warning light is sufficient to tell you it is about to boil over, which should never happen if the cooling system is up to spec and you don't let mowing chaff build up in the radiator fins. Any operating temperature short of boilover is within Yanmar's design specs.

These were designed to run for days flat out without overheating, if the pto is powering a ditch pump, for example, and nothing we do putt-putting around is going to stress it like that. Yanmar got it right, there's nothing to improve.
He is right, don't bother, just make sure the light and sender work. Ground the light wire out and it should come on. Replace the sender at most is all I would do. I'm here in SC close to you, my farm is closer to NC but I have run the thing flat out bushhogging in 97f temps and light never come on. The only time was when I first got it. I was not diligent about cleaning the screen in front of radiator of fluff and I had the light cone on that way. Dumped the fluff off of it and light came off after a few seconds at high idle.

Nice! WHat implements to you use for your food plots? I plan on using a turn plow or middle buster on some new ground, the disking the heck out of it!
I disc first w/4' disc, then spread fertilizer, run tiller over it, roll with cultipacker, spread seed, drag with piece of chain link fence, cultipack over it again, Pray for rain! You probably would have to turn new ground with a plow. Before I got my tiller, I ran disc over it several times. now I disc once and till once. You can use a big plastic roller filled with water instead of a cultipacker. I also roundup spray 4 weeks before and bush hog 2 weeks before I plant.

When I do food plots I will spray, use to not before I had a sprayer. I disk and disk again usually , it takes a lot of weight on the disk with these small tractors unless your in really loose sand soil. And takes many passes. Once it's broken up you can disk just once or twice to get it done. A turn plow would be best at first. After that I would spread seed and fertilizer and then drag with chain link or an old box spring I have around.

The gasket I asked about is in the external transmission section Code: H194150-24441 I think you ordered just the pto seal.

Gotcha, yes I see what you are saying now - NOT leaking from that gasket. Leaking from the rear PTO seal only.

Good deal! I do not have a tiller, maybe one day! I have a turn plow and access to some discs though so I'm going to try that this weekend!

I just called Hoye - remove C-Clip and replace seal is what they told me. Read that in a few forums as well.
