Yes, My throttle is reversed! Thanks for the replies! I am going to try to start it again as soon as it stops snowing here long enough to do so.... Ahh Life in the great northeast. Anybody want to trade?? You send me some sunshine and I will send you ALL the snow you want /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I tried the start sequence given and..... nothing, not even a pop... I have to take the fuel filter off and check it again to see if this is the problem or if it is after that point. I talked with the guy I bought it from and he told me to his knowledge there is no cold start aid (thermostart) on this tractor. I ordered the lower radiator hose heater and the manuals from the nice gentleman in the previous post and may just have to wait for them to arrive to try things again /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Dave, is there any chance you tried to start the tractor with the fuel turned off and now need to bleed the air from the fuel lines?

Not hard to find out if it has Thermostart. Look under the hood, and see if it has a little plastic bowl, probably hold about a 1/2 cup, and a rubber hose running from it, going to the carb. It should be in front of the carb. And look at your switch and see if it has a position to the left of off, and if the plate is still on it, it should read Off, then turning it to the right, it would be on, and then start. But if you turned it to the left it should be to ST, which would be the thermostart. If it has none of these things, then it don't have it. But I kind of think it probably does.

If you would get a set of manuals for a US YM155 it would probably help you out.

Norm!!

You were right on!! A friend of mine (coincidentally also named Norm) who knows Diesels stopped by and determined it was air in the lines! He bled them and it immediately fired up! I ran it for about an hour and it never missed a beat! When I did run it the first time it was clacking pretty good, but this time it was quiet. My friend said since I brought it home in the rain it could have had moisture in it, or the guy I bought it from could have turned off the fuel when he transported it to our meeting place, either could have caused the air according to him. He also pointed out that I have the thermo start on the engine, but someone has disabled it as the fuel line is cut and crimped on the top of the unit, and there is no longer a wire hooked to it.
So that is the story. The shift pattern is also missing from the tractor so I had some fun finding gears, especially reverse, but it ran great!! Thanks again for all the info!!

I wouldn't care to say how I came to that conclusion. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

"The shift pattern is also missing from the tractor so I had some fun finding gears, especially reverse"

My YM2000B has the shift pattern cast into the trans. cover. I would have thought they all did.
