Is there anyplace I can buy a new thermostart system? I would like to get it back to original. All I see is the plug in the intake, as said in a previous past, it is crimped off and the electrical connection is gone. If these are available and not too expensive I would love to purchase one. I also want to find some inexpensive (yeah right) attachments for it. Tops on the list is a small snowblower for the 3pt. Any ideas on locations to purchase these, please let me know. Thanks

Dave

Plenty of dealers here that may respond to you on the replacement parts and manuals. Like Len Sheaffer and Danny Parker.
The thermostart system works great on these diesels /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I just thought of another question. Does anyone know if this tractor can take a small backhoe? If so, does anyone know where I could get one? or maybe I could build one. I am not a good welder so I would have to get a bolt together package of some type. Thanks! Hope everyone had a great Christmas!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I don't know that anyone builds a backhoe small enough for a 1300. You would have to go with a CADplans backhoe. I just don't see a bolt together backhoe holding up that well either.

I have now run into another problem. I still have a fuel delivery problem, I got it running and now it does not want to start. I traced it back to a problem in the fuel tank. Does anyone know if there is some type of a one way valve in the tank. I took off the fuel line at the filter and nothing came out. I blew the line back toward the tank with my compressor and it bubbled up in the tank, but no fuel came back out the line. Does this system have to have suction to fill that line or is there a problem??
It has been very cold here. I just recieved a lower radiator hose heater and am trying to get it started to get it to my garage to install the heater but..... Help? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Fuel should flow freely all the way from the tank to the pump. you have a restriction either in the upper hose or the tank. I would remove the upper hose first, then syphon the tank and look inside with a dental or mechanics mirror.

Faulty fuel shut-off valve? If yours has one, sometimes they can "look" open by the position of the key - while in reality be partially closed.

Thank you! Sorry for the delay in posting but I found the problem, there was a lot of "junk" in the tank which I cleaned and it runs great now but I have run into another problem. The tractor runs about 20 minutes and the overheat light comes on. The bottom of the radiator is cold along with the bottom hose. The upper hose and the top of the radiator is hot. Is there a thermostat in the 1300D? I couldn't locate one after taking the upper hose off. Could the radiator be plugged or is there a water pump on this unit that is failing? Suggestions?? Thanks!

The 1300 does not have a water pump. Surprise! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
It circulates water via convection. There are two possible problems that come to mind.
1. Possible a dirty radiator.
2. The water to coolant ratio is too low. Try about a 40%coolant 60% water mix and see what that does for you.

When you drain the radiator check to see how dirty it is and flush it out real good. You may have to pull the radiator and take it to a radiator shop to be professionally cleaned.

When you do drain it.. pull the bottom hose, and let your garden hose run into the top neck.. flush it.. the radiator should run as much water as a regular 1/2" garden hose puts out.. if not.. may be plugged.
