I would say that its well worth the cost. 9 dollars or so, without shipping. I would buy that before I fabbed one up...

What exactly is the adapter??? Is it the fork shaped piece that connects to the top link?

The one I bought had that on it, but I still could not get it to work for me. If I recall correctly, it was the width that I had the problem with.

Well I did also. there are some links to many discusions, and a year or so ago eveyone had the problem with the lower slots being too narrow to take the ball . I used a wood slitting wendge to open mine some..as others did with different methods. Not sure if they fixed that or not. yet. it appeared to me that the metal that formed the pocked was pulled inward too much on the casting. if they dad make a shim in between it would have been the right width opening. but opening it up was a minor trouble.

Thanks white.I should say I'm not looking to purchase, I have just thought that good advertising would have them listing that part, its even shown in the PDF instructions. I have emailed HF and suggested this improvement on their site as I have heard of people getting the upper link thinking it was the adapter. But they responded that they didn't have the 'power' to change the way it was advertised. That doesn't make sense to me but....

got it.
Call their customer service and ask for Item #29309, Description "93691 Hitch Adapter.
Hope this works ...

Ordered mine this morning. You have to call Harbor Freight, it is not on their web page.

I ended up with the 26.5 HF quick hitch, so it's been sitting around not getting used as it doesn't fit anything.

Is the easiest solution to take a jack and spread it? Any other thoughts?

Update on my HF hitch. Works very very well. What I have found is the top link adapter (ordered seperate) works better then using the top J hook on implements I have tried so far. Just line up on the the lower link pins and then just manually hook the top link. Was worth every penny of the $9.00 for the adapter.

My 'quick hitch ready' Howse box scraper was not quite ready. The cat 1 pins were actually a little too narrow for the 27.5 HF quick hitch and I couldn't get one retainer pin in on one side. I bought 2 large washers and attached them to each outside side of the box scraper pins and it works fine now (no customization to the HF hitch!!). The Howse straight blade fits like a champ (it was not QH ready...ha). Haven't had a chance to try the Howse mower or the Allied snow blower yet because theres not enough of either...ha. Mower should work fine by my measurements. Allied is questionable.

So, this goes to show that it can be the implement thats not exactly right even tho it's rated for a quick hitch.

I was attempting to remove dirt from my building pad with the box scraper and got in a little to deep. All four wheels were turning when it was full of mud/dirt and I wasn't moving in 4wd. HF quick hitch didn't budge a bit. Another thing I learned is that a 26 hp tractor can even begin to move dirt like the big dozers (and he almost got it stuck)....ha. I tried to help.....lol

HF quick hitch is worth every penny IMHO. With the price of steal soaring I could probably get a good price just recycling it alone

I'll post some pics when I get time.

i j just ordered the hf qh for my b7100. I have a rear finish mower by woods a middle buster and I'm buying a 4 ft. rake this weekend. I could not order the adapter for the top link, it wouldn't let me even with the part # i read on these posts, maybe I won't need it. Now if I could find a loader.
