Okay, long story...
I am putting up my 89' crank up tower. So, I need to dig a hole 5x5 and 8 feet deep. 7 cubic yards of concrete to hold this thing in place. I weld up the rebar cage and it weighs almost 300 pounds. Two #9 rebar 8 feet long in each corner with #4 horizontal 12 inch on center. I had a blast welding! My neighbor taught me how. Kind of like soldering with a pressure washer. You feel the push back like a pressure washer, and the motlen metal is like solder. Used a Hobart wire welder. Anyway, I call the local rental company and ask for a machine to dig the hole. He offered me a L3130 with LA723 loader (I think) and BH. I told him I needed to dig 8 feet, and that I already have a loader. So he sets me up with a mini excavator. Really fun machine but I got it home and it couldn't dig more than 6 feet 7 inches.... Suddenly, I miss my BH-90.
Anyway, I need to move my 1,900 pound tower out of the work area. Last time I moved it, I used my L4330 and it hard a hard time, and it had the LA853 loader too. So, I fully expected some difficulty since I have the same loader on the L5030. NOPE!!! Dummy here had no problem lifting the tower. I had a hard time keeping my back wheels on the ground! I almost had to change my underwear! I didn't put enough weight on the rear of the tractor. Luckily, my brother in law stood on my box blade. Amazing what an additional 200 pounds on the back can do! The L5030 had no problem, did not even strain or hesitate on the load. I was absolutely impressed. Now I am wondering why my L4330 had a hard time, and the L5030 didn't even bog down.
