Here is my letter I am sending today along with a complete print out of this post and the pictures.

To Whom It May Concern:

I own a CK20 and am concerned about a manufacturing defect. The details are enclosed along with print outs of the pictures. If you read the post you will figure out the concerns of the owners who use Tractorsbynet as a resource.

Great points by everyone. Interesting due to this post (good jo HB), more owners are checking and finding a problem.
Clearly, to me anyhow, this is a recall item. Welding is what I do to fix old equipment on the farm, not design flaws. I would expect a reinforced design fix and an extended warranty on this item for the life of the tractor.

Recall Infinity and their first recall. Instead of being head in the sand about it, they preemptively called the customers, asked them to come in, filled their gas tanks for free and changed the oil for free while they fixed THEIR messup. It became a business model for appropriate and effective handling of manufacturing screw ups. Kioti decision makers-do your homework on properly handling the situation and you will WIN customers and elevate the product to a higher level...mis-handle it and relegate the company to second class status. Just my 2 cents. Let's see how the resolution upfolds!
**********
I would like an letter from upper management as to how Kioti intends to address this issue since odds are, the same will happen to my new tractor as well.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

<font color="blue"> I believe it unreasonable Kioti would expect the tractor dealer to be a metalworking/ fab shop
. . .
I think this type of welding repair is beyond the "scope" of a dealers expectations. . . </font>

We may have to agree to disagree, but I think it is well within the scope of the dealer's responsibility to employ experts in diesel mechanics, hydraulics and welding repair. I would not buy a tractor (of any brand) from a dealership that did not have a complete shop facility to take care of all aspects of the tractor. Perhaps this is why some of us (like myself) go on rants about the quality of the dealership being more important than the brand of tractor? We have a new Montana tractor dealership, its a small engine repair shop. No way would I buy a diesel tractor from a guy who's experience is in repairing lawn mowers and scooters. We have a garden center that picked up Mahindra, you can buy your tractor and a few trays of petunias on the same trip. Again, that dealer is not for me. I suspect others have a different opinion than I do, but Highbean got totally screwed over by his dealer!

Folks,

There have been lots of good replies. Even when the replies disagree the tone has been very good and consturctive. Thank you for not letting the thread wander off topic.

I have received an email from Kioti, very short and sweet, but the summary is that they have my information, my letter, my pictures, and are looking into it. I sent that letter on Saturday and within a few hours of opening for business on Monday I got a response of some sort. That's great response time.

Joe,
Glad to hear they got back to you. Let us know how it turns out.
On another note, I wonder if there's any way to link this and the previous threads together so that people just joining this discussion know exactly what has transpired? If I remember correctly, didn't you say that you picked up the loader before the dealer had a chance to paint it? Not that it would have made much difference (still would have looked like c**p).
I just think it would be benificial if newcomers could get the "whole" story.
My opinion (That and $3.95 will get you a coffee at Starbucks)
Tom

Glad to hear there is progress HB!

Hope that Kioti Corp. can make right what the dealer messed up the first time around.

Sounds like they are at least going to do something.
