( A separate, very light metal shield cover over external hoses, screwed down to a REAL cross beam would easily solve the hose protection problem without compromising the cross beam. )
I agree that would be good protection and wouldn't add a lot of cost either.

I also agree that too many reports of cracking have come in for this to be anything isolated.

I guess I should pull the cover off my KL130 as see what is going on. Some of you have long cracks from seeing your pictures that extend beyond the cover. I'll keep my fingers crossed and take a peek. I sure hope I'm happily surprised.

Mine has the cracks just starting in the same place as kiotimike. I had notified the dealer but I'm trying to get a few more hours on it so when I bring it in they can do the 50 hr service on it as well. I wonder if they should have continued the reinforcement all the way along the in side. The original cracks on the unreinforced were at the bolt holes, then they reinforced the loaders and the cracks moved to the end of the reinforcement. Maybe if they weld another piece from gusset to gusset on the top and bottom that could help? I'll hopefully be able to get a little more seat time since it has finally stopped raining now and be able to get mine to the dealer to see what they say.

I looked at mine, but didn't pull the cover, I'll do that tonight and report back.

Amen to bad design 101. Mine isn't cracked YET either. By shifting to an oval hole without the stress concentrating corners and increasing the gage of the cross piece they could probably avoid the problem. I doubt if the Kioti factory has much in the way of computer stress simulation capability so it's probably design it and then fix the design when a problem is reported. I hope they get hot on this one before the problem appear for the rest of us.
