I got the eHydro and boy am I glad of it. I've got nothing against gear (I hate automatics in a car - gotta have stick) but manuvering around my property is a lot of forward, reverse and tight turns.

Gear in my yard would be like stop and go traffic with a standard - it sucks /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

One thing that takes a little getting used to is the whine of the eHydro. I know nothing is wrong, but it sounds a little disconcerting at first. So far I love it! I'll keep you posted as I get some more hours on it.

JDGREEN4ME,

Those projects will pop up out of nowhere. Heck, I was out clearing some fallen limbs this afternoon and my neighbor spied my new toy and we got to talking, he had a few cords of oak that came down in the storm (four foot lengths) and he let me just cart it away for firewood for next year.

I probably wouldn't have even offered to take it off his hands had it not been for the tractor. That stuff weighs a ton and it was uphill to get it near my woodshed. A wheelbarrow would have been to small. A few trips with the tractor does the trick. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

You might try suggesting a nice new patio or water garden or something the wife might like and more implements might be on the way sooner than you think. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif The 4110 is a wonderful machine. Had it not been for my need of a backhoe, I would have gotten that instead.

Sleepyhollow -

How did you get the bucket hooks and blade attachment for your bucket? Is this something you ordered or did you have it added on by the dealer? I am looking at getting hooks myself, but my bucket on my 4600/460 FEL doesn't have them currently and I like the configuration you have in the picture.

Thanks for your help -

rmonio,

When I ordered the 4310, I asked the dealer to weld on 3 chain hooks across the top of the bucket for the FEL. I also requested a chain hook on the backside of the backhoe bucket.

I'm not sure if there is a part number for them, but it's whatever the dealer normally uses. I have to imagine your dealer would be able to source something similar if not identical if you print out the picture I posted and show it to him.

I don't have a welder yet and I figured the dealer was better set up to do the touch up paint etc than I was. I'm not sure how much I'll end up using them, but it can't hurt to have and when the time comes I know I'll be glad they are there.

By blade I'm assuming you mean the reversible, replacable bolt-on cutting edge. I also requested that when I ordered the tractor. Once I again, I don't know as I'll have to replace it anytime soon, but the thought of having a "consumable" component permenantly welded on didn't sit well with me. The only other special request I had at order time were the dual rear flood lights and those are Deere as well. I love them and have made use of them already.

Hope this helps,

The Grab Hooks just like the ones on Sleepyhollow's 4310 can be ordered from AWDirect. http://www.awdirect.com/awdirect/finditem.cfm?itemid=7301
They do have a $10.00 minimum order policy. I'm sure you will have no problem finding $10.00 worth of merchandise at this site though. You might be surprised how often a grab hook will come in handy.

I do like the idea of the reversible, replacable bolt-on cutting edge. Could save a guy some bucks down the road. Sleepyhollow was using his head when placing his order. /w3tcompact/icons/clever.gif Congratulations on the new tractor! She's a good looker. /w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif

SleepyHollow/Jpicton1 -

Thanks for the feedback. I don't have a welder so I'm going to check with my dealer on it - I really need the hooks as they would make things alot easier. I have a rather large pile of rocks that I'm going to need to move in the spring and the hooks will make the chain work much easier.

How strong is the bar attachment vs. the normal blade edge on the bucket? Did the dealer give you any information on that?

I love my 4600 - I just had the block and hydraulic heaters put in so I'm ready for the Snow and Cold here in MN. Good luck with your 4310!

Thanks MReeter,

I'm loving it. It was a struggle for me to pick green over orange and blue because one was better than the other in one category and worse yet another so in the end I just went with what felt more comfotable to me. I'm sorry I haven't had the chance to post some more photos yet, but I hope you guys are enjoying the ones that are there now.

Great looking Rig! As the owner of a 4310 e-Hydro with a 430 FEL and a 48 BH I can assure you "You'll love it"! Mine continues to amaze me (and my neighbors) on the power and versatility this tractor has. I went for the 4in1 bucket, extra armor, extra/extra lighting, and the oversized R4's... Toothbar is being installed as I type this. Best of luck with the new family member!
