I think I'm gonna take Bill6's advice and start waxing and using armor all on this thing in the morning. Seems like it would clean up easier with wax on it.
Great looking tractor Mud! :) As always, I am terribly jealous of all you rich folks who can just run out and buy a brand new tractor. The term "brand new" will never be in my book I'm afraid. But like others have noted, someone with the big bucks has to buy them new so that I can later buy them used! :D

Glad to see you are going to follow the "Bill6 Standard"! Bill6 is my "tractor care" hero. He sets the standard that the rest of us can only hope to achieve on our best days.

I guess I will never understand y'alls need to clean your toys. The only thing I keep compuslively clean are my tools. I can't stand to have oil, slipperly tools. Do y'all cringe every time y'all get mud on the tires. That is when I have the most fun............throwing mud with the R1s.
hugs, Brandi

Well, speaking only for myself here, we city slickers don't do R1's... so the mudbath thang is sort of a moot point! ;)

But philosophically speaking, is not the tractor itself yet another tool??? Oh sure, it is a rather BIG one... but it is still essentially a tool. And for the very same reasons you keep your other important tools clean, you should also keep your tractor clean. :D Nothing like a good wash after every dirt digging job I always say! ;)

How's that for a good answer??? :p

That's a nice looking tractor-I thought about getting one and still do, but I think mine will do for a while. Congrats and good luck!!

Thanks again for all the compliments! I wish I were rich Dougster, then I could just hire out tractor work. The main reason I got another tractor was for the 4WD and the FEL. My 4505 was constantly getting stuck around the pond. As for as waxing it, I must admit it looks great! Getting "mud on the tires" is one of the fun parts, but cleaning your tractor after a productive day ranks up there!:)

Mud,
Looks great and congrats. I have a twin to that one up here in Maine. :D First thing I did when I got mine home was drive it into the manure pile. :p Then I felt guilty and gave it a bath.
You might want to think about widening the tires out a bit. It helps with the overall stability. The fronts are easy, just take em off switch from side to side and turn em around. The rears are a little tougher. I had to take the center dish off to get the width I was looking for. Other than that have a blast.

Thanks for the info Ed! Did you set your rears to the full 70"?

No I think they are one stop lower than the 70". Make sure you have help for the rears. They are kinda heavy, plus the center disk is a pain in the #$% to get back on the rim. I had to use a bar to work the dish to the holes and had my wife stuff the bolts.

MUDONTHETIRES,

Who did you buy from? Was it Singleton's? Liberty? Gulf South? Lemann's? I am near Livingston, LA.
