Yea, you will notice the added stability. It was well worth the effort. If I had thought about it I would have had the dealer do it before delivering it.

Well, speaking only for myself here, we city slickers don't do R1's... so the mudbath thang is sort of a moot point!

But philosophically speaking, is not the tractor itself yet another tool??? Oh sure, it is a rather BIG one... but it is still essentially a tool. And for the very same reasons you keep your other important tools clean, you should also keep your tractor clean. Nothing like a good wash after every dirt digging job I always say!

How's that for a good answer???

Your really missing out on slinging some mud. Next time, just put her in 12th or 8th and roar down the pavement. She will sling mud for you. The Big Red Beast gets her rinse offs. Accumlated mud is bad for anything. I will, from time to time, wipe off big grease spots. But I don't make it a scheduled maintenance function. My gease gun is a tool also, but I don't wax it either.

What type of hooks are those welded on your loader bucket?

Glad you like the blog. I guess your the first one on TBN to find it.
I have two 3/8" log chain hooks welded on each end of the bucket.
