Any changes that you've thought of since finishing it?

Thanks Eddie. Yeah, if I had it to do over I'd insulate the overhead on the side sheds to make it a little cooler where the implements are parked. Even though open on 3 sides, it gets hot under there. I've used them for painting / maintenance on my bee hives, sharpening the mower blades and other just busy / repair work.

Of course that's something I could still do but.....

I've thought of doing the same thing. Something to cut down on how hot the metal gets, but also to stop the condensation. It's on my to do list, but not one of those projects I'm rushing in to get done!!!

Two year update: Only thing wrong with my barn now is it is too small, I have already almost run out of room! Still happy to report my floor is still crack free.

Glad to hear the floor held up like you thought it would. I plan on building the same size barn this summer with the open side sheds also. Lets see some pics of the filled up barn. Seems everyone on the site says the same thing...... Build it bigger!!! Nice thread, and thanks for the update.

I am not a builder, but have never seen concrete poured on top of grass. Was always told to remover the grass/top soil first.

You are correct always remove the loam and grass. Glad to hear everything has held up well for you. In my parts in order to do a slab on grad build i would do a 12" x 12" grid with rebar. With 12x12 footing around the outside walls.
