That's a real nice looking machine, Stu!
Have you tried removing/reinstalling the FEL yet? I'm just curious about the Klampinator. It looks like it would speed things up considerably by making all 4 (or 6 with grapple?) connections in one operation. It also looks like it would have enough mechanical advantage to let you muscle the fittings together when there's a slight pressure load in one or more of the lines. This happens to me often and results in me using a hammer and drift punch to relieve the pressure in the QDs, frequently spraying myself and anything nearby with UDT.

BG,
As far as I know, this should never happen! Or at least, it never happens to me. Do you shut the tractor off, and function all the valves to relieve all the pressure before you try to connect/disconnect your fittings? You shouldn't have to relieve the pressure with a hammer and drift punch, that is a bit of a red flag.

My new L4060 HSTC has finally made it home! I spent a few hours bushogging yesterday when it was 96deg outside and was great! I liked my B3030 cab but got tired of the dust, dirt, HST whine, and my A/C never really cooled when compared to this L4060 HSTC and my M5040 Cab.

The only thing I'm waiting for is deciding if I want to go with the Kubota or someother Top n Tilt..... will decide that in the next couple of weeks.

Enjoy the pics!

Stu

didn't you have the 8540 as well a while back? hey glad you like the honeymoon w/new tractor, and yes, consider the top &tilt if you can afford the extra valve. a plus on any size tractor, (safety too) enjoy

Congrats on the new machine, it looks very nice! For the top & tilt there is a member (mountain view) here that sells them and I have heard very good things, it is who I will go through when I buy mine.

I think that would be MtnViewRanch, he sells Fit Rite Hydraulics.

Don't want to hi-jack, but yes, I do those things when I detatch it & reconnect it. It's the implement that builds pressure - from sunlight or just the day getting warmer. Will try hosing it down with cold water, next time it happens.

The fluid coupling on Stu's new work horse looks like it might make the connection trouble free, regardless of internal pressure.
